Alicia Vikander

 Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress, dancer and producer. Her birthplace and was raised in Gothenburg, Vastra Gotalands lan, Sweden, to Maria Fahl who was an actress on screen and stage, as well as Svante Vikander who is a psychiatrist. She is one-quarter Finnish through her mother. Her maternal great aunt, who escaped World War II to move from Finland to Sweden was also her maternal great aunt. Alicia began acting as a child in stage productions of minor importance at the Goteborg Opera, and trained as a dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm and at the School of American Ballet in New York. The professional career of her acting began with appearances in Swedish television series. She was first recognized as a performer in Northern Europe as Josefin Bjorn–Tegebrandt as she appeared in the TV drama Second Avenue (2007). Vikander's debut feature film role was in Pure (2009). For this, she won the Guldbagge Award as Best Actress. The actress gained a lot of attention in 2012 for her role as the role of Princess Ekaterina "Kitty" Alexandrovna Shcherbatskaya in Joe Wright's adaptation of Anna Karenina (2012), and Queen Caroline Mathilde in the acclaimed Danish film A Royal Affair (2012), receiving a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination for her first major role. In 2013, she was a part-time actress in Hotel, an Swedish drama film. Also, she was in The Fifth Estate (2013) which is a biopic of Julian Assange. Vikander received nominations for the Golden Globe, BAFTA Award and the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She was also in the roles of Vera Brittain, an activist in the film Testament of Youth (2014) and Gerda Wegener, an artist in Ex Machina (2014). For these roles, she received the Academy Award as well as the Screen Actors Guild Award.
