Amanda Peet is an American actress who made her way into the spotlight after appearing in the 2000 American crime-comedy film "The Whole Nine Yards". After a few small commercial and TV roles, she made her debut in film. She was in the American comedy film Saving Silverman and then acted in the American romantic comedy "Something's Gotta Give". She was also a part of the popular comedy films 'Griffin & Phoenix', and "The Ex". Apart from comedy films, Peet has appeared in different genres, too. She appeared in the American geopolitical thriller Syriana", as well as the science fiction movie The X-Files : I Want to Believe' in the early 2000s. When she was a child, she was naturally academically inclined and decided to take up acting as a profession. Uta Hagen was her acting coach and she started her acting career. For three years, she was part of the American comedy drama series 'Jack and Jill. In the following years she was a part of 'Studio 60 at the Sunset Strip' which is a comedy-drama show. Peet has also actively taken part in various campaigns that promote vaccinations for children. Peet was recognized by the Independent Investigative Group for her advocacy for vaccines.
