David Ortiz

David Americo Ortiz Arias, often referred to as 'Big Papi is a Dominican American professional baseball player, also known as the designated hitter, with the Boston Red Sox of Major league Baseball. He formally played for Minnesota Twins for a few years before joining Red Sox for good. He is also known as the heart of the Boston Red Sox's offensive power due to his enormous frame and talent to hit bigger than life home runs. He is certainly one of the most famous and intimidating player in baseball in the United States. Ortiz was a child who loved the game. His father, a Dominican semi-pro and professional league player, played the game for a long time. Due to his enormous physical that he was encouraged to play basketball at the age of his high school but his passion for baseball earned him a contract with the Seattle Mariners who then traded him off to the Minnesota Twins. The talent of Ortiz was soon recognized by the Major league Baseball and the Boston Red Sox hired him to play occasionally as pinch hitter. But later, he was given a chance to play a season as the designated hitter. And he never looked back after that.
