Fran Drescher

 Francine Joy Drescher more commonly known as Fran Drescher, is an American actor, comedian and writer as well as an activist. Her character in the role of Fran in the TV series 'TheNanny, between 1993 and 1999, is her most well-known role. She is also known for her distinct New York accent and nasal voice. After making her screen debut in the 1977 film 'Saturday Night Fever', she was part of 'American Hot Waxe" and Wes Craven's scary story 'Stranger in our House' in the year 1980. Although she was the guest actor on numerous shows and films, her TV career was established. Her name was also recognized for films like 'Gorp', 'The Hollywood Knights', 'Doctor Detroit', 'This Is Spinal Tap', and the 'UHF' series. The actress became famous when she played the character of Fran Fine-Sheffield in her sitcom "The Nanny". The series' run she was nominated in the Best Actress in Comedy Television Series category, which was awarded at both the 'Emmy Awards' and the Golden Globes'. She is a survivor of the uterine cancer, and is an advocate for LGBT rights. Her work at the 'US State Department' as an ambassador for public diplomacy and women's rights is what makes her famous. After divorce from Peter Marc Jacobson, a writer and producer her current home is Malibu.
