MATTHEW SETTLE

 At age 19, Matthew Settle moved to New York City and joined a rock band. Settle decided to pursue a career as an actor after his inability play an instrument caused him to reconsider the direction his career would take. After numerous drama classes, unsuccessful pilots, and TV movies The Johnny-comes-lately into the film business was finally capable of landing his first role of major importance in I Still Know What You Did Last summer (1998). Settle was nearly 29 years older. He was born in Hickory (NC) on 17 September 1969. His father was a Baptist preacher, and his mother was a organist in the church. The family moved in 1983. relocated to Sevierville. Settle was a record salesman at Dolly Parton's nearby theme park Dollywood, before deciding to make a career of it. After being kicked out of the New York-based group in the early 1990s, he sold meat and seafood off trucks on Long Island before Jay Julian Robert De Niro's lawyer and acting coach, enrolled him in school. Settle took money from his friends to fund the tuition after which he moved to Los Angeles to begin his career.Settle made his debut on screen in the role of Sarah Paulson as an Irish-American settler in the 1996 CBS pilot Shaughnesy. He was later cast as an aspiring frat boy in the movie that aired on the show What Happened to Bobby Earl? (1997) with Kate Jackson and Kristian Alfonso, land a small role in the television film Murder in Mind (1997) with Ellen Burstyn and Kristin Davis, and play Green Lantern in the pilot for Justice League of America (1997) with David Ogden Stiers and Miguel Ferrer.
