Norm MacDonald

 MacDonald was born Norman Gene MacDonald in Quebec City, Quebec on October 17, 1959. MacDonald's comedy career began by performing stand-up comedy. MacDonald started his stand-up career by creating material for The Dennis Miller Show (1992) as well as Roseanne (1988). In working on Roseanne (1988), he was recognized by Lorne Michaels, who was a fan of Norm's stand up, and then offered him a spot as a host on Saturday Night Live (1975).MacDonald became famous when he was the Weekend Update anchor with his trademark phrase, "And now the fake news". The show ran until September 24, 1994, until the 13th of December 1997 after which he was dismissed by Don Ohlmeyer, president of NBC on the west coast. The show was officially ended in the month of March, 1998. The final weekend update was broadcast on December 13, 1997. His movie, Dirty Work (1998), which he began working on in the summer of 1997, was released 2 months after. In March 1999, his show, named Norm (1999), came out on ABC and had a 3-season run. He also played opposite Dave Chappelle in Screwed (2000).
