Rosamund Pike

 Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of a classical violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and an opera singing father, Julian Pike. Due to her parents' jobs, she spent her early years traveling across Europe. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She then began her acting career at the National Youth Theatre. While appearing in a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first spotted and accepted by an agent, although she continued her education in Wadham College, Oxford, where she read English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper second-class honours degree.Pike was a part of a variety of UK TV shows that included Wives and Daughters (1999) prior to making her film debut as the glacial beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); When the film came out at the age of 23, she was just 23. Although her debut film was a big-budget action movie, her film performance was mostly in smaller independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her debut film as one of the Bennet girls. A brief foray into Hollywood film followed with the action film, Doom (2005), and the thriller Fracture (2007), but she returned to smaller films with exceptional performances in three films The first of which was An Education (2009), Made in Dagenham (2010), and as the lead actress with Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).
