Salma Hayek was conceived in Coatzacoalcos (Mexico) on September 2nd 1996. Her father is Lebanese and her mother is Mexican/Spanish. She saw Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) at a local theater and decided that she wanted to be an actress. At the age of 12, she was sent to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was at Mexico City's prestigious University of the Sacred Heart located in New Orleans, Louisiana.
