Four sisters: Lesley, Ashley (sings back to Evans), Erin and Allyx. The couple is married to musician Craig Schelske. One son, Jack Avery, was born on August 21, 1999. Addresses: Home--Springfield, TN; Record company--RCA Records, 1540 Broadway, New York City, NY 10036; Fan Club--Sara Evans Fan Club, P.O. Box 509, Knoxville, TN 37901 Phone: (212) 930-4000 Fax: (212) 930-4468.Throughout her existence, Sara Evans only held but one dream that was to compose and sing country music. "God placed me on earth to sing," said Evans, as quoted by John Meroney of American Enterprise. It's what I love most than anything else, and I'll do it for the rest of my life. Furthermore, Evans wanted to succeed by reverting to traditional country songs brought by legends such as Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Tammy Wynette, George Jones and Patty Loveless, musicians Evans considered to be her biggest sources of inspiration. In the latter part of the 1990s, when most country music aspiring artists turned to pop music, Evans was a pioneer in country music, performing songs from the past. This is evident in her 1997 album, True Lies. True Lies was not received positively by critics, and she was nominated for Academy of Country Music's 1998 award for the most outstanding female singer. Evans was finally able to get the respect she wanted from her childhood after her 1999 album, No Place That Far, was released.
