Alicia Roanne Witt is an American actor as well as a singer and pianist. She made her name as a child actor after being discovered by David Lynch and is best known for her roles in Dune (1984) and Twin Peaks (1990) as in Mr. Holland's Opus (1995), Fun (1994) as well as Urban Legend (1998). Witt has also been seen in The Sopranos, Nashville, Two and a Half Men and Orange Are the New Black.Witt has been in eight of the annual Hallmark Christmas movies since 2013 and has been the an executive producer and story editor for her latest film, 2020's Christmas Tree Lane.In addition to acting, Witt has been described as a musical prodigy as a talented musician, singer, and the songwriter. She has composed original songs to the characters she sings on-screen.From 1989 through 1996 her mother, who was an American held the Guinness World Record for having the longest hair.Talking at age two and reading by four, Witt has been described as a child prodigy. Director David Lynch recognized her acting talent when he watched her perform Romeo and Juliet at age five.Witt was able to graduate from high school at the age of 14.
