Dana Delany

 Dana Welles Delany was a New York City native, born on the 13th of March 1956. She was raised in Stamford Connecticut. Dana was aware from a young age that she would like to be an actress. After graduating of Wesleyan University, this tall (5'6") beauty relocated to New York and developed her talents in daytime television and in theater. Dana was a major character in the Broadway show "A Life" and also earned praise for her performance in off-Broadway plays. Her performance in Nicholas Kazan's controversial "Bloodmoon" in New York led her to Hollywood. Dana played in a variety of TV series, and continued to work until she could get her own show with a star. This happened in 1988, when Dana became identified with Army nurse Colleen McMurphy in ABC TV's critically acclaimed series China Beach (1988), the role earning her four Emmy nominations and two Emmy Awards as the Best Actress.Dana began to appear in movies and was eventually offered prominent roles in films like Tombstone. With more than an eon of TV and film projects over the last couple of years, Dana is one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood.
