Heather Graham

Heather Joan Graham was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Joan (Bransfield), a schoolteacher and author of children's books as well as James Graham, an FBI agent. She and her sister actress Aimee Graham were raised by strictly Catholic parents. Due to the job of Heather's father and mother, they were often in and out of the house, and Heather was shyer. Unexpectedly, her love of acting was evident from a young age. Despite being called"a "theater geek" by her classmates, her senior class named her the Most Talented. However, her passion for acting created a tension between Heather and her family although her mother was obligingly driving her to auditions in Hollywood throughout her adolescence. After high school, Heather relocated to Los Angeles and received small parts in various films including Drugstore Cowboy (1989). Heather decided to enroll at the University of California at Los Angeles for her drama degree when her acting career didn't grow as fast as she had hoped. At UCLA where she was discovered by actor James Woods and received a subsequent part in a film Woods starred in, Diggstown (1992).
