Leah Remini

 Leah Marie Remini, an American actress and TV personality and author. She is most well-known for portraying Carrie Heffernan in the long-running CBS comedy series 'The King of Queens'. An active participant in the Church of Scientology, she received media attention when she quit and publicly decried the faith in 2013. She has been a vocal critic of the Church since when she quit. She published "Troublemaker" The Story of Surviving Hollywood, Scientology in 2015. It is her autobiography about her experiences within Scientology and the Church as well as the reason why she left. Her parents raised her according to Roman Catholic tradition. Her mother was converted to Scientology when she was nine years old and her children joined the Church shortly after. Remini's first screen appearance was in 1988 on the sitcom Head of the Class. Then she made her major screen debut with the 1997 film Critics and Other Freaks. She played Carrie Heffernan in 'The King of Queens' from 1998 until 2007. She also played Lara Campbell's role in the comedy film "Old School" and was the host of "The Talk". She hosted the Emmy Award-winning documentary show "Leah Remini Scientology and The Aftermath' after leaving Scientology. In the year 2017, Remini reunited with her "The King of Queens" co-star Kevin James for the short-lived sitcom 'Kevin Can Wait'.
