Melissa Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She spent most of her early years doing musicals and studying dance. At 17 years old, she was accepted and started her theater studies at the North Carolina School of the Arts Conservatory. She spent a year as model in New York after leaving school before she began acting professionally. Wynn Handman and Howard Fine were her teachers, as well as the Groundlings School, Los Angeles, where she appeared in sketch shows. In 2007, she took a break from acting to complete her college degree at The New SchoolMelissa Lee (born November 4 1974 in Great Neck, New York) is a reporter, journalist and news anchor for CNBC. She has hosted Closing Bell from January 2009. She also hosts Options Action, and is currently the host of CNBC's 5pm ET daytime show Fast Money.Lee took over as host of CNBC's 5pm ET daytime show, Fast Money when Dylan Ratigan quit CNBC for the sister network MSNBC on March 27 the 27th of March, 2009. She was the host in interim following the departure of Ratigan, until April of the same year when she was made the permanent host. Lee was nominated for two Emmy Awards for Business News. [As of 2013, Melissa Lee hosts three CNBC programs: Fast Money and Options Action. Money in Motion is a program about currency trading. Since February 9, 2015, Lee is one of four hosts for Power Lunch.
