Nancy Travis

 Nancy Travis was born in New York City, to Theresa who was a social worker as well as Gordon Travis, a sales executive. After growing up in Boston and Baltimore, she returned to New York to continue her studies at New York University. After graduating from school, she worked as a stage manager for New York's American Jewish Theater. She then traveled to join the national tour of Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs." Through all of her career, she's maintained a in close contact with the stage. She was a founder of the off-Broadway-based New York-based theater company Naked Angels, she appeared in their production of Frank Pugliese's play "Aven-U Boys " as well as "King of Connecticut" with Frances McDormand. She also performed in the Broadway run of the award-winning show "I'm Not Rappaport" with Cleavon Little and Judd Hirsch. Also, she was in Athol Fugard's "My Children My Africa" which she directed at La Jolla Playhouse. Travis who is no stranger to TV was a part of the cast with Peter Gallagher (directed by Tom Cruise) in the segment of Showtime's anthology show Fallen Angels (1993).
