Rachel Weisz

 Rachel Hannah Weisz was born on March 7 1970 in London, U.K., to Edith Ruth (Teich), psychoanalyst and George Weisz, an inventor. Both parents came to England around 1938. Her father is a Hungarian Jewish immigrant, and her mother, originally from Vienna was from Italian as well as Austrian Jewish heritage. Rachel has a sister, Minnie who is a curator as well as a photographer.Rachel started modeling when she was 14 and started acting during her studies at Cambridge University. In Cambridge, she co-founded the theater company "Talking Tongues", which received the Guardian Award, at the Edinburgh Festival, for its take on Neville Southall's "Washbag". Rachel was a star on the stage of Sean Mathias's critically acclaimed revival of Noel's "Design For Living". She was awarded the vote of the London Critics Circle for The Most Promising Youngster. Rachel can also be found in The Shape of Things (2003) and About a Boy (2002). She won an Screen Actors Guild Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.
