Mary Lucy Denise Henner was born on the 6th of April 1952. She is an American actor and producer. She began her career appearing in the first production of musical Grease in 1971. She then making her debut on screen in the film comedy-drama Between the Lines.In 1977, Henner was cast in her first major role in the role of Elaine O'Connor Nardo in the ABC/NBC sitcom Taxi, a role she played until 1983. She received five Golden Globe Award nominations. She later has played co-starring roles in movies such as Hammett (1982), The Man Who Loved Women (1983), Cannonball Run II (1984), Johnny Dangerously (1984) and Rustlers Rhapsody (1985), L.A. Story (1991) and Noises Off (1992). After returning to television, she starred in CBS' Evening Shade (1990-1994), The Man Who Loved Women (1983) Cannonball Run II (1984), Johnny Dangerously (1984), Rustlers' Rhapsody (1985), L.A. Story (1991) and Joseph Henner (whose name was originally Pudlowski) who passed away due to a heart attack when she was 52. Her maternal grandparents were Greek and her paternal grandparents were Polish. Henner was born in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood on the northwest corner. She is the third of six children. Her mother was president of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts and was the director of the Henner Dance School for 20 years. Henner took her first dance class when she was two. She went on to teaching dance at her family's studio when she was 14 . She also choreographed shows for local universities and high schools until she left the Chicago region during her third year of college.
