Reese Witherspoon

 Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon is the daughter of Betty Witherspoon (a registered nurse) and John Draper Witherspoon (a military surgeon). She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 22nd the 22nd of March, 1976. Reese spent the first 4 years of her life in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany in which her father was employed as a lieutenant colonel in the US Army reserves. Shortly after, the family returned to the USA & moved to Nashville, Tennessee.Reese was introduced to the industry of entertainment at a very early age. At age 7, she began modeling. It led to her appearing on numerous local television commercials. She was 11 years old when she won the Ten-State Talent Fair. In 1990, her first major acting part was on Robert Mulligan's The Man in the Moon (1991). She was 14 years old, a tomboy who received rave reviews. Her roles in films, such as Jack the Bear (1993) and A Far Off Place (1993) were soon followed. Reese graduated from Harpeth Hall in Nashville in 1994 and chose to attend Stanford University, where she would pursue a degree in English literature. Reese's college plans were blocked when she was offered roles in two major motion pictures: Fear (1996) alongside Mark Wahlberg and Freeway (1996) alongside Kiefer Suerland. Although neither film was a huge box-office success, they did help to establish Reese as a rising starlet in Hollywood and open the door to bigger and better film roles. They were featured in films such as Pleasantville (1998) as well as Election (1999) as well as Cruel Intentions (1999).
