 Ashanti Shequoiya is an American singer-songwriter, dancer and record producer. The Grammy award winner gained fame around the new millennium through her hit album "Ashanti" as well as the hit single "Foolish". It was the biggest hit of the time and more than 5 million copies were sold. The sales of her debut album were also recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. From an early age she was in the glamour industry. She was a TV actress in commercials and music videos. But her debut R&B album turned out to be her most popular success. She's also a talented writer. The track "Ain’t it Funny (Murder Remix)," which she wrote and sang for Jennifer Lopez, reached the number one spot on Billboard's top 100. Ashanti was even honored with the title of "Princess of Hip Hop & R&B" by her employer. In recognition of her album's incredible success, she won eight Billboard Awards as well as two American Music Awards. Her stint as an actress in 'Bride and Prejudice' (2004), 'About Time' (2013) are worth to be mentioned.
