George Timothy Clooney was created on the 6th of May, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky to Nina Bruce (nee Warren), who was a former beauty queen, and Nick Clooney (an ex-anchorman and TV host) who were also the siblings of Rosemary Clooney. He has Irish, English, and German heritage. Clooney spent most of his growing up in Ohio and Kentucky and was a graduate of Augusta High School. Clooney was involved in sports such as baseball and basketball, and was offered a role in the film of Miguel Ferrer. Clooney then began to think about acting. He was first seen as Ace on the sitcom E/R (1984). There were other roles to come. These included George Burnett as Ace, the handsome handyman from The Facts of Life (1979), Booker Brooks as Roseanne's supervisor (1988), and the detective James Falconer in Sisters (1991). Clooney gained recognition in 1994 when he was cast alongside Anthony Edwards and Julianna Margulies as Dr. Doug Ross on ER (1994).
