Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot was a French woman who was born in Paris on the 28th of September 1934. Her father was an engineer, and was employed in the family's business. Brigitte was encouraged by her mother to study music and dance. Brigitte was just fifteen years old, was already trying to make a career as a model. She was soon featured in "Elle" which was a French magazine. Her beautiful beauty was evident, Brigitte next tried films. In 1952 she walked the screen for the first time as Javotte Lemoine in Crazy for Love (1952). The actress was also in two other films, and she was married Roger Vadim the following year (the relationship lasted three and half years). Brigitte, who had already achieved success with French films, made her debut American film, Act of Love (1953) together in collaboration with Kirk Douglas. She continued making films in France. Brigitte's explosive sexuality swept the United States. The effect she had on millions of American men, who hadn't seen a woman as attractive as her for a long time and if they ever did, it was electric. The rise of the term "sex kitten" and fascination of Brigitte within the United States consisted of magazines images and dubbed over French films, whether good or uninteresting, her films drew audiences--mainly men--into theaters in the style of lemmings. In 1965, she starred as herself in the American-made Dear Brigitte (1965) with James Stewart (she only appeared in one scene).
