Halle-Berry

 Halle Maria Berry was born Maria Halle Berry on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Bedford, Ohio to Judith Ann (Hawkins), psychiatrist nurse, and Jerome Jesse Berry, a hospital attendant. Her father is African-American and her mother is from English as well as German descent. Halle first became in the spotlight at age 17 when she was crowned the Miss Teen All-American Pageant, representing Ohio. She was crowned Miss Ohio in 1985 and, a year later in 1986, when she was the first runner-up in the Miss U.S.A. Pageant. After participating in the contest, Halle became a model. She soon became an actress and won her first weekly TV series, 1989's Living Dolls (1989). In the show, she quickly earned the reputation of being a hard worker who put in the work on the set. She was able to get her first major screen debut after refusing to shower for several days in order to not turn into a heroin addict in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever (1991).
