Katharine Bear Tur, born on October 26 1983, is an American broadcast journalist and writer. Tur is an anchor on MSNBC Live. She has also reported for NBC News' NBC News platforms Early Today, Today and NBC Nightly News. Tur is the daughter of journalist Hanna Zoey Tur. She attended Brentwood School (2001), and then from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2005) with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in philosophy.Tur has worked for KTLA, HD News/Cablevision, News 12 Brooklyn, WPIX-TV, and Fox 5 New York. Tur was an experienced storm chaser for The Weather Channel's VORTEX2 team. After that, she became a reporter for WNBC-TV New York City and rose to become the mainstay of NBC News. She was a reporter on Cory Monteith's murder as well as a motorbike attack on an SUV, as well as the MH-370 hunt while in NBC News.
