Katharine Bear Tur, born on October 26, 1983, is an American broadcast journalist and an author. Tur is an anchor on MSNBC Live. She has also reported for NBC News' NBC News platforms Early Today, Today and NBC Nightly News. Tur is the daughter of journalist Hanna Zoey Tur. Tur has graduated from Brentwood School in 2001 and the University of California Santa Barbara in 2005, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She has also covered for KTLA and HD News/Cablevision as well as News 12 Brooklyn and WPIX-TV and Fox 5 New York. In the following years, Tur worked as a storm chaser for The Weather Channel on the network's VORTEX2 team.In 2009, Tur joined NBC's local station in New York City, WNBC-TV The station then grew to become the flagship NBC News at the national network on a national scale. While working at NBC News, she covered the death of Cory Monteith, a motorcycle attack on an SUV and the MH-370 search.
