Yasmin Vossoughian

Yasmin Vossoughian '00 does not consider herself an author. She says, "I like to interact and learn from others." For an economics class at Oxy the assignment was to create a story about the different ways people do in society. With a video camera she filmed a day in the life of a sewer worker as well as an executive, taking pictures at high-rises and manholes as well as talking with both about their work--one for minimum wages, the other making millions of dollars a year. When she presented the final piece in class, everyone liked it. She smiles and says "Someone told me that you'll become a Barbara Walters.” "I am a huge fan of breaking news," she says. "I'm an addict when it comes to breaking news. Vossoughian was hired by MSNBC in the year 2017 and soon became an anchor on a regular basis of "Morning Joe First Look," the predawn-newscast that leads to MSNBC's flagship morning show. She anchors the two-hour news block on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, where she and guest panelists discuss the most important news stories of the week.
