Alycia Debnam-Carey

 Alycia Jasmin Debnam-Carey (born 20 July 1993) is an Australian actor from Australia. She is best known for her roles as Lexa on the dystopian science fiction series The 100 (2014-2016; 2020) as well as Alicia Clark on the horror drama series Fear the Walking Dead (2015-2022). Her film debut came in 2003 in Rachel Ward's Australian short drama Martha's New Coat, and also made her feature film debut in the American disaster film Into the Storm (2014). Her directorial debut was in 2022 in the show "Ofelia", which was part of the seventh season's Fear the Walking Dead. Leone Carey was her mother and her father were musicians. As kids, Debnam-Carey and her brother would help their mother act out the program segments she composed. Debnam-Carey began acting when she was eight, and also studied classical percussion for 10 years.She was a student at the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and was an drummer. In 2010, as part of a collaboration with the Berlin Philharmonic, Debnam-Carey and forty other musicians wrote an entire piece for a two-week program and presented at the Sydney Opera House. She was recognized as a distinguished student by the NSW Government in her final year of school because she was the top performer in six Higher School Certificate courses including English Advanced, English Extension 1, Drama and Music 2 and Modern History and Visual Arts. The Premier's Award was presented to her for attaining a grade of 90+ on 10 units. She also earned an OnStage nomination as well as an HSC Encore nomination. Graduating from Newtown in 2011, she almost attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, but decided she wanted to take up acting.
