Nicollette Sheridan, born 21 November 1963 is an American actress. After starting her career as an actress, she later became a model. In 1984, she was cast in ABC's short-lived soap opera Paper Dolls. She also was a part of The Sure Thing (1985), a romantic comedy. She was the lead in the CBS primetime soap opera Knots Landing (1986-1993), which she won two Soap Opera Digest Awards. In the following years, Sheridan appeared in lead roles in numerous television films and miniseries which included Lucky Chances (1990), Virus (1995), and The People Next Door (1996). She also appeared in the feature films Noises Off (1992), Spy Hard (1996), Beverly Hills Ninja (1997) and Code Name: The Cleaner (2007).From 2004 until 2009, Sheridan was the lead character Edie Britt in the ABC television show Desperate Housewives, for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, Series or Television Film in 2005. From 2018 to 2019 she played Alexis Carrington on The CW's Dynasty reboot.Sheridan was born in Worthing, England, the daughter of actress Sally Adams, who gave birth to her at age 16. Sheridan was just one year old, lost her father when she was very young. She hasn't seen him since.
