Cheryl Ruth Hines was born on the 21st of September, 1965 in Miami Beach, Florida, to Rosemary (Graham) and James Hines She grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. She attended West Virginia University, Florida State University and then graduated from the University of Central Florida. Although she studied television production and theater, she wasn't sure she had a solid grasp of comedy until she moved to Los Angeles and attended the Groundlings Theater. Lisa Kudrow was her first teacher. She taught her how to improvise and create comedy sketches. This helped her prepare for her perform the role of Larry David's wife on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000-2001). She's relaxed because the dialogue for the show's scenario comedy is created by improvising. If she is given the chance to perform, she will still be at Groundlings Theater.
