Canadian actor, director and producer Katheryn Winnick starred in the critically well-received, Emmy award-winning television series Vikings, produced by MGM and The History Channel. Alongside her lead role on Vikings the show, an episode written by Winnick premiered in 2020. Entertainment Weekly called her "Lagertha" the most fascinating feminist character on television. Her character as the fierce shieldmaiden earned numerous prestigious awards, including a Women's Image Network award for the Best Actress in a Drama Series in the year 2018 as well as a nomination for the Critic's Choice Award for the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, a Canadian Screen Award nomination for the best performance by a lead Actress in a Dramatic Actress (2014) as well as the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series through the Women's Image Network nominations in 2014, 2015, and 2016, and an award nomination for the Golden Maple Award nomination for Best Actress in an TV Series. Katheryn was also nominated to receive the Serendipity Film Award of Excellence at the 2015 Banff World Media Festival. Katheryn was also chosen to serve as a juror for the 2019 Cannes Series festival.
