Rachel Weisz

 Rachel Hannah Weisz was born on March 7 1970 in London, U.K., to Edith Ruth (Teich), psychoanalyst, as well as George Weisz, an inventor. Both of her parents moved to England around 1938. Her father is a Hungarian Jewish immigrant, and her mother, originally from Vienna, was from Italian as well as Austrian Jewish heritage. Rachel is a sister to Minnie, a curator, and photographer. Rachel started modeling at age 14 and then began acting while she was completing her Cambridge University studies. While there, she formed the theater company "Talking Tongues" that was awarded the Guardian Award, at the Edinburgh Festival for its adaptation of Neville Southall's "Washbag". Rachel then went on to play on stage in the critically acclaimed Sean Mathias revival of Noel Coward's "Design for Living". It was a role that was awarded her the title of the most promising newcomer by the London Critics' Circle.She has starred in numerous films that include The Mummy (1999), Enemy at the Gates (2001) and Stealing Beauty (1996). Rachel can also be found in The Shape of Things (2003) and About a Boy (2002). She was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award and an Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.
