Melissa George (born 6 August 1976) is an Australian-American-British actress and entrepreneur. A former champion of the national artistic rollerskating championship and model, George began her acting career in the role of Angel Parrish in the Australian soap show Home and Away (1993-1996). After making the move to the United States, George made her debut as a feature film in Dark City (1998). The following year, she had minor roles in Steven Soderbergh's The Limey (1999), David Lynch's Mulholland Drive (2001), Sugar & Spice (2001), and Down with Love (2003).George made her move to lead roles when she appeared as Kathy Lutz in the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror. In the following years, she was a star in a series of horror and thriller films that included Turistas (2006) and WDZ (2007). She also played Kathy Lutz in the Amityville Horror's 2005 remake. In recognition of her performance as Laura Hill in HBO's In Treatment (2008) In Treatment (2008), she was nominated for the Golden Globe. In 2010, she starred as Clara Musso on the FOX crime drama series Lie to Me*. She was also in the Australian miniseries The Slap (2011), in which she won a Logie Award, and in the BBC spy drama Hunted (2012). In the year 2015, she starred in the American version of The Slap, playing the identical character, Rosie, that she played in the previous version. She starred in the Hulu series The First as Diane Hagerty in the year 2018. She currently plays Margot in The Mosquito Coast, an Apple TV+ drama series The Mosquito Coast (2021).
